Arizona Diamondbacks Name Torey Lovullo As Manager

New Arizona Manager Torey Lovullo
As expected, the Diamondbacks have selected former Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo as their new manager. The 51-year old Lovullo was manager John Farrell's bench coach from 2012-2016. During Farrell's bout with cancer, Lovullo became acting Red Sox manager and paced the team to a surprisingly good 28-20 record. He was seen as a possible heir apparent to Farrell. Now, Lovullo will take over a struggling Arizona franchise that lost 93 games in 2016. In fact, the D'Backs have not had a winning record since 2011, when they were skippered by Kirk Gibson. We wish Torey the best of luck in his new role in the desert.
