The Editors of FenwayNation have named Red Sox relief pitcher Heath Hembree as their 2016 'Under The Radar' Player Of The Year. The award is given to that player who made a significant contribution to the success of the team—but did not necessarily receive a lot of recognition by fans and the media. On the season, Hembree appeared in 38 games, hurling 51 innings. He was 4-1 and compiled a solid 2.65 ERA. He held opponents to a .249 batting average. In close and late situations (9.1 innings), Hembree walked none and struck out eight. Congratulations Heath!
