Home Runs And E-Rod Propel Sox To 5-2 Win Over O's

During this six-game winning streak, the confluence of good pitching and good hitting (not always in sync in 2016) have been the constant for your Carmine Hose. Last night was a perfect example, as Eduardo Rodriguez helped his chances to become the #3 post-season starter with 6 1/3 solid innings of two-run ball in the 5-2 win. The offense was paced by a mammoth three-run HR by David Ortiz (#36) and a solo shot by Jackie Bradley, Jr. (#26). Mookie Betts—back in the lead-off spot for the night—had three hits, and Chris Young continued his solid season by going 2-4 with an RBI. Once again, the bullpen delivered 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. The win dropped the Magic Number to win the AL East to eight.
