Multiple reports now indicate that
the Red Sox have traded for Minnesota relief pitcher Fernando Abad—
pending medicals.
It appears that hard-throwing RHP Pat Light will be sent to the Twin Cities in exchange for Abad. Light has become
an increasingly valuable pitching prospect in the Red Sox system. This season, Abad is 1-4 with a 2.65 ERA over 34 innings of work. He's given up just 27 hits in those frames and owns a WHIP of 1.206.
