Red Sox Pick Up Late 'Yard"-Age, Beat Mariners, 2-1

For most of last night's game at Safeco Field, a pitcher's duel broke out. Then, Eduardo Rodriguez finally yielded a run in the seventh inning, putting The Carmine Hose down by a run. Then, Aaron Hill went yard in the eight and Mookie Betts followed leading off the ninth, and Boston was ahead 2-1. Newly activated closer Craig Kimbrel came in for the somewhat shaky save and—suddenly—this one was in the win column.
