Betts And Porcello Share July Player Of Month Honors

Betts (L); Porcello (R)
For the second time this year, the editors of FenwayNation have awarded a joint Player Of The Month Award—and both times Rick Porcello was involved. For July, Porcello shares the honor with Mookie Betts who had a spectacular month as well. Mookie hit .368 in July, with an on-base percentage of .415. The Red Sox right-fielder also slugged at an impressive .653 rate—clouting five HRs and knocking in 15. Betts also had a triple and ten doubles—along with five stolen bases. Porcello was 5-0 during the month, with a stellar 2.57 ERA. The righty walked just three batters in July, while striking out 22. Opposing batters hit only .248 against him and he compiled a WHIP of 1.03. Congratulations to Mookie and Rick—our FenwayNation July Players Of The Month!
