In the end, they took the series. After one of the most humiliating losses in years on Saturday, the Red Sox pounded out 10 runs on 16 hits to smother the Angels, 10-5 and take two of three to start the homestand. Boston broke open a 0-0 game in the fifth by tallying seven runs—including a key hit by Hanley Ramirez (who went 3-5 with two RBIs). In addition to Ramirez, five other Carmine Hosers had multiple-hit games: Dustin Pedroia, Jackie Bradley, Jr. (who also made two fantastic defensive plays), Brock Holt, Sandy 'Babe' Leon (3 RBIs), and Marco Hernandez. Surprise starter Sean O'Sullivan went five solid innings for his second win—giving up just two earned runs on four hits. In come the Rangers for a huge series.
