The Red Sox traded for a second infielder in two days—getting Michael Martinez from the Cleveland Indians for cash (
Aaron Hill was
acquired yesterday). Martinez had been designated for assignment by
The Tribe on July 2nd. The 33-year-old Martinez hit .283 in 32 games for Cleveland this year. However, he's a .199
career hitter over six MLB seasons. These two moves
have to indicate something big happening with the
