Kevin Youkilis Decries Israeli Flag-Burning By Protestors

Youk's Fenway Farewell In 2012
Former Red Sox hero Kevin Youkilis tweeted out his concern with Tuesday's burning of an Israeli flag by anti-Hillary Clinton protestors outside the convention center in Philadelphia where the Democratic National Convention is being held. The Clinton campaign later formally condemned the flag burning. Youkilis tweeted, "Sad to see the hatred that still exists for Israel and Jews across the world." He followed his comments with the hashtags 'StopTheHate' and 'NeverAgain.' Despite being portrayed as 'The Greek God Of Walks' in the famed book 'MoneyBall', Youkilis' heritage is Jewish. His great-great-great-grandfather moved from Romania to Greece to avoid the scourge of anti-Semitic Cossacks. Upon returning to Romania, he changed his surname from "Weiner" to "Youkilis" (the name of a family he befriended in Greece) to avoid persecution. We applaud Kevin's comments.
