As
MassLive.COM's Jen McCaffrey points out,
there are two important active hitting streaks by Red Sox hitters. The obvious one is
Jackie Bradley, Jr.'s 27-game streak—which is just 8 shy of breaking the all-time Red Sox record of 34 (held by
Dom DiMaggio). But, somewhat under the radar,
Xander Bogaerts has put together a 16-game streak (a career best for Bogie). The X-Man's three hits on Sunday put him in a tie for the most hits (63) in MLB. Bogaerts in now hitting .346—just a tad ahead of his teammate JBJ at .342.
