Movement Begins To Erect David Ortiz Statue At Fenway
Don't get us wrong, we are among the biggest David Ortiz fans on the planet. Personally, I will never forget the moment in Game Four of the 2004 ALCS when he delivered the quintessential "keep-hope-alive" HR to smite The Evil Ones. I have never been more excited at a sporting event—ever. However, we're not so sure we need to erect a bronze statue of Ortiz outside of GATE B at Fenway Park quite yet. The guy is still playing for crying out loud! A website called "Sox Lunch" has launched a petition to erect such a monument to Big Papi—joining other Boston legends Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski, 'The Teammates', Bobby Orr, Bill Russell, and Red Auerbach. If you really want to sign the petition, you can HERE.
