The possibility that
Pablo Sandoval may need surgery for his ailing right shoulder could put a kibosh on any Red Sox-Padre deals. According to multiple sources, San Diego is still scouting
The Carmine Hose and is still Panda-hunting (who knows why?!). Of course, to fetch either
James Shields or
Matt Kemp (or both) it would require an
added helping of prospects. The Padres like what they got back for
Craig Kimbrel (maybe even more so after last night) and are reportedly licking their chops for more Boston talent. Of course, we probably won't know anything about Sandoval's condition for another couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
