Los Angeles Re-Names Street For The Great Vin Scully

Vin Scully
The L.A. City Council voted unanimously to re-name a thoroughfare near Dodger Stadium for legendary broadcaster Vin Scully. The newly-named street (formerly Elysian Park Avenue) leads right into the stadium—which will have the new address of: 1000 Vin Scully Avenue. This is a right and fitting tribute for the 88-year old—who will be calling games for the last time in 2016. Anyone who has had access to the MLB TV package and listened to Scully do his solo play-by-play thing on a routine basis, knows that he is the best ever. Nobody even comes close. Even the tragic ending to Game 6 of the 1986 World Series was made more epic with Scully calling it. If we only had such an icon doing Red Sox games! The closest we ever came was the great Ned Martin. Good for the L.A. City Council!
