UPDATE: Cubs, D'Backs out.
Multiple reports overnight suggest that the trade market for Atlanta starter Shelby Miller is heating up. The Red Sox—along with the Diamondbacks, Cubs and Dodgers—are said to be involved in those negotiations. Adding the 25-year old Miller to a staff of David Price, Eduardo Rodriguez, Rick Porcello, and Clay Buchholz would significantly upgrade the rotation even further. It would also allow the team to move Joe Kelly to the rapidly improving bullpen—or trade him. Miller made 33 starts last season for a pathetic Braves club—but still managed a stellar 3.02 ERA in 205.1 innings. His league-leading 17 losses mask an outstanding performance in 2015.
