Red Sox Likely To Let Rich Hill Walk In Free Agency

(USAToday Sports)
The Red Sox are unlikely to sign Milton, Mass. native Rich Hill during their exclusive negotiating window (which ends tonight). Thus, the 35-year old lefty will become a free agent in his new re-incarnation as a starting pitcher. You might recall that Hill had an astounding four starts for the Red Sox in 2015—posting a 1.55 ERA with 36 strikeouts and just 5 walks. However, Boston is shooting for a younger, more "elite" starter to place at the top of a rotation that already seems filled out. So, Hill will be allowed to find another home. We wish him the best.
