Red Sox left-handed pitcher
Brian Johnson escaped harm early Friday after a vehicle he was riding in was the target of an attempted carjacking. Johnson was in a car with friends from his hometown of Cocoa Beach, Florida when it was approached by a gun-wielding assailant. The gunman fired a round into the ground in a attempt to carjack the vehicle. Johnson shone at AAA Pawtucket this past season—and was called up to the big club in July. In just 4 1/3 innings pitched for Boston, Johnson was 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA.
Baseball Prospectus Boston named Johnson the
2015 Pitching Prospect Of The Year.
