Pat Light |
Multiple reports suggest that the
Red Sox will soon add 24-year old fireballer Pat Light to their 40-man roster. Light did well at both AA Portland and AAA Pawtucket in 2015 (62.2 IP, 49 H, 67 Ks) and might be a nice hard-throwing option in an otherwise extremely weak Boston bullpen. There is even some talk that Light (converted from a starter) could be a choice as future closer. Light was Boston's first-round pick in 2012 out of Monmouth University, featuring a fastball in the mid-to-high 90s—along with what has been described as a 'devastating' splitter. While it's not a lock that he will come north with the 2016 squad, you're pretty likely to see him with the big club at
some point in 2016.
