Is Brian Johnson Up To Fenway After Tonight?

(MiLB.com)
Brian Johnson, the highly-touted 24-year old Red Sox pitching prospect, is on the mound tonight for Pawtucket. So far this year, the 6'4" lefty is 8-5 with 2.68 ERA. In 80.2 innings pitched, he's given up just 63 hits—and sports a WHIP of 1.08. He looks about as ready as a young starter can be. Couple this with the fact that the Boston rotation is in dire need of quality in at least two spots (Rick Porcello, Justin Masterson), and the obvious solution is Johnson. If the Red Sox are serious about making a move on the division and/or the Wild Card, they need to take a chance on Johnson now—or at least after tonight's AAA start.
