Kelly's Heroes Thrash Evil Empire Again, 8-4

(Associated Press)
He wasn't even supposed to pitch today, but Joe Kelly, in fact, did. The quirky right-hander delivered seven solid innings in the Bronx—yielding just one earned run on one hit while striking out eight. He even touched as high as 99 MPH on the steroid-juiced Yankee Stadium radar gun. Need more heroes? How about the Not Ready For Prime Time Outfield of Brock Holt, Daniel Nava, and Allen Craig? All BrockStar did was go 4-5 with three RBIs. Not to be outdone, Nava went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, and Craig made a spectacular catch in the right-field corner at a critical juncture. Dustin Pedroia also had 2 RBIs, with Andover High School's Ryan Hanigan knocking in one. When all was said and done at The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street, Boston had beaten the Embalmers, 8-4—looking for a sweep of the series on Sunday Night Baseball.
