ESPN: Sox Are 12th Best, Will Win 84 Games

ESPN.com's David Schoenfield ranks the 2015 Red Sox as the 12th best team in baseball—projecting them to win a total of 84 games. That's a 13-game improvement over the disastrous 2014, but Schoenfield still only picks The Carmine Hose to finish third in the AL East. Strange. He seems overly obsessed with the potential pitfalls facing the team—the age of David Ortiz, the health of Dustin Pedroia, the defensive challenges of Hanley Ramirez, and The Mediocre Mounders in the rotation. Certainly all of those negatives could combine to destroy any post-season chances, but it's unlikely that all of them will befall this team. Honestly, even without an ace on the mound, it's hard to see who in the AL East is better than Boston—let alone two teams being better. We shall see.
