Red Sox Now Set Sights Low On Wade Miley

(USATSI)
Inexplicably, the Red Sox are reportedly pursuing a trade for Arizona Diamondback left-hander Wade Miley. Talk about your serious drop-offs! The 28-year old Miley was 8-12 with a 4.34 ERA for an admittedly lousy D-Backs team. But in his four-year career, he is just over .500 (38-35) with a respectable—although not spectacular—3.79 ERA. He has pitched at or near 200 innings in the last three years, so he's a workhorse—but is he really qualified to fill one of the top two empty spots in the Boston rotation? In what we think is the key pitcher stat—he's given up more hits than innings pitched in his career—not a good sign.
