Not that we should be surprised by his comments, but Red Sox GM
Ben Cherington stated today on MLB Network Radio that he is not ruling out adding two starters to the 2015 roster.
Duh! Frankly, we thought this was an
obvious need for
months now. But, at least
BenCher is
publicly stating this to the nation—the United States of America, that is. Cherington also stated that while he didn't currently know the "names" or "costs" of the players, the possibility of adding two was a distinct one. Among
Jon Lester,
Cole Hamels,
James Shields,
Johnny Cueto and
Jeff Samardzija (among others)—we should be able to get
two for the top of our rotation.
