Detroit Offers Rick Porcello For Cespedes

Porcello (L); Cespedes (R)
Multiple sources are tonight reporting that the Detroit Tigers have offered starting pitcher Rick Porcello in exchange of OF Yoenis Cespedes. Porcello—a 25-year old right-hander—is a six-year veteran, who has never lived up to the initial hype that surrounded him. He is 76-63 with a 4.30 ERA. While a workhorse (at least 30 starts in five of his six years), he's given up in excess of 100 more hits than innings pitched. In 2012, he gave up the most hits in the American League (226), and has a 1.359 career WHIP. Last season, he went 15-13 with 3.43 ERA. Porcello is eligible to be a free agent in 2016. This seems like a pretty bad deal for Boston. No biscuit.
