You Can Call Him A.J.: Sox Fall To Cards, 3-2

Oh, the indignity! The winning rally last night started with a two-out hit by A.J. Pierzynski. That's all you need to know about yesterday's 3-2 loss to the World Series runner-ups. When the former Red Sox catcher scored the winning run a short while later, he cast an evil eye toward the Boston dugout—pure A.J. Rubby De La Rosa actually pitched really well—going six innings and giving up just one earned run. But—in the stupid tradition of the DH-free National League—he was lifted for a pinch-hitter. Yoenis Cespedes had three hits—but most were of the flare variety (not exactly Cuban Missiles). Win number fifty remains elusive.
