ConstipationNation has returned. After collecting thirteen hits, the Red Sox walked off the
Minute Maid Park diamond
3-2 losers. The two plays that best defined the game were double-plays: hit into by
David Ortiz with the bases-loaded and
Dustin Pedroia (to end the game) with two on. Also, in the 8th inning a weird attempted force play resulted in an failed athletic attempt by Pedroia to stay on the second base bag. The winning run eventually scored.
Jake Peavy has still not won since late April and may have hurled his final game in
Carmine Hose. He went seven solid innings, giving up just six hits and all three runs. He struck out nine and gave up one two-run HR. On the bright side, the kids kept on hitting—
Brock 'Babe' Holt was 3-5 (now hitting .315), while
Xander Bogaerts,
,
Jackie Bradley, Jr.. and
Mookie Betts were all 2-4.
