Peavy Is Philosophical About Imminent Trade

Jake Peavy has been through this before. He was traded by the San Diego Padres (where he spent most of his career) to the Chicago White Sox. The Pale Hose then dealt him last July to the Carmine variety of footwear. He is likely now headed to one of two National League contenders: the St. Louis Cardinals (possibly in exchange for Allen Craig) or the Atlanta Braves. The fiery 33-year old right-hander is taking his next move in stride: "Anything I say and do, I want people to know that I love it here. I can't imagine having to tell some of the guys in this room, whom I love like family, goodbye, see them maybe once or twice a year. You always try to look at it in a positive light because somebody wants you, and I have value, simply to save some money for the Red Sox." We will certainly miss Peavy cussing to himself on the mound, but moving him is the right thing to do for all concerned.
