The Red Sox signed
Sam Travis—the 67th overall pick in the MLB Draft—to a contract worth $846,000. The right-hand-hitting first baseman hit .347 with 12 HRs for Indiana University this year. He reportedly has both power
and plate discipline—a combo the Red Sox are currently in very short supply of at the major
and minor league levels. Said Director Of Amateur Scouting
Amiel Sawdaye said.
"He's another guy that's really going to use the Monster well and then also put some balls onto Lansdowne Street." We can't wait!
