This time it was eleven guys left on base—seven in scoring position. The bugaboo that has haunted the Red Sox off and on this year is back with a vengeance. After overcoming yet another 3-0 deficit (thanks to first inning ineptitude by
Jake Peavy), Boston again rallied to tie. In the seventh, however,
Andrew Miller coughed up two additional runs, and that's all she wrote in
the 5-3 loss. Except for another home run and 2-4 effort by budding superstar
Xander Bogaerts.
