Mo Rivera: "I'd Take Pedroia At Second Base"

In a not-so-veiled slap at former teammate Robinson Cano, Mariano Rivera states in his new book that he'd take Dustin Pedroia as the second baseman on his side "if I have to win one game". Rivera places The Muddy Chicken "at the top of my list" of admired players, saying, "Nobody plays harder, gives more, wants to win more. He comes at you hard for twenty-seven outs. It’s a special thing to see." Of Cano, Rivera states, "There is no doubt that he is a Hall-of-Fame caliber (player). It’s just a question of whether he finds the drive you need to get there. I don’t think Robby burns to be the best." Hello! The book, appropriately titled, "The Closer" hits bookstores today.
