Lackey Uncharacteristically Lacking, Sox Fall 6-1

The Detroit Tigers must be thinking: 'How did we lose to these guys last year?'. Boston again lacked offensive punch, falling to the Tabbys, 6-1. John Lackey picked a bad time to stop being good—going just 5 1/3 innings and giving up five earned runs. Xander Bogaerts provided the only tally for The Carmine Hose—launching a HR into the Monster seats. Boston is now two games under .500 and falling fast in the still competitive AL East. This offensive drought is starting to feel like a disturbing trend that could well leave the World Champs on the outside looking in by October.
