Boston's top pitching prospect
Henry Owens nearly threw his second no-hitter of the year last night for the AA Portland Seadogs. The tall lefty hurled seven no-hit frames before giving up a hit in the eighth. He finished with 7 2/3 innings, striking out six and giving up two runs on one hit. In his
first start of 2014, Owens pitched a rain-shortened, six-inning no-hitter against Reading.
MLB.com ranks Owens as the 28th best prospect in all of baseball. Owens is now 4-2, with a 3.61 ERA this season.
