Are Red Sox Trolling For Help At Third Base?

Multiple sources are stating that the Red Sox are seriously considering some kind of move that could solve their current situation at third base. With a struggling Will Middlebrooks going on the 15-day DL, Brock Holt really isn't a good solution. Red Sox GM Ben Cherington told's Rob Bradford the following on Monday: "...we know we’ve got an area on the left side of the infield where we’re missing a player, and where we haven’t gotten the total performance that we would like to get at this point in the year...There is always an interest in improving. The default position is always let’s see how much we can get internally first, and then consider external alternatives after that." Some names that have been mentioned as trade possibilities include: Mike Moustakas (KC) and Chase Headley (SD). Stay tuned!
