Xander Bogaerts collected three more hits (he's reached base in eight of twelve 2014 plate appearances) as the Red Sox beat the Orioles, 4-3 on Thursday night. The 21-year old phenom scored two of the four Boston tallies. The Carmine Hose knocked out a total of 14 hits against Baltimore pitching—with David Ortiz also grabbing three. Will Middlebrooks and Jackie Bradley, Jr. each had two hits and an RBI. Felix Doubront—once again—pitched just "OK", lasting 5 1/3 innings and giving up three runs on six hits. So, the Red Sox have won their first series of the new campaign and head back north for tomorrow's Home Opener against decades-old rival Milwaukee. At least there'll be a ring ceremony.
