Sox Catching Prospect Has Run-In With Law

(Lee County Sheriff's Office)
UPDATE: Denney to enter program
At last year's Spring Training, it was Red Sox pitching prospect Drake Britton who tangled with the smokies in Lee County, Florida. This year, it's catching prospect Jon Denney. Early Thursday morning, Denney was stopped by Lee County deputies after his F-150 fishtailed on the highway. Denney was improperly driving on a restricted license—thanks to a DUI in Arkansas. After police cited him, they found him entering his truck again two hours later. When confronted, he gave his best Kennedy family "Do you know who I am?" imitation. Denney said he was "a Boston Red Sox player" and he made more money than the officers "would ever see." After he was handcuffed, Denney claimed "he would be out in no time because of who he played for and that he made three million a year." Isn't that special? What a bozo!
