It happened this morning at South Boston's 'World Shaving Headquarters" of
Gillette.
Shane Vicotrino and
David Ortiz had their beards shorn for charity—a $100,000 donation by the razor-maker to
The One Fund Boston. World-famous Boston police officer
Steve Horgan (he of the now permanently-raised arms) also parted with his whiskers. Ortiz left a little patch of beard around his chin and feared,
"Mike Napoli is going to kill me." The post-shorn Victorino stated,
"This is an awesome city. It’s a city of resiliency…this city has a lot of pride in their sports and athletes...to be part of that—I’m truly blessed."
