Lefty Needs To Sit Out World Series |
As the Red Sox face a Wednesday decision on their World Series roster, they should make at least
one obvious move. After Saturday night's meltdown by
Franklin Morlaes (a walk and a two-run single), he should be dropped. There are a number of choices to add to the roster:
John McDonald (of
Providence College fame) could provide infield back-up—particularly if
Stephen Drew continues his abysmal offensive funk. Or,
Ryan Lavarnway could provide a right-handed bat off the bench and serve as an emergency catcher. Even
Jackie Bradley, Jr. would be an interesting alternative. On the pitching side, either
Matt Thornton (I know, I know) or
Drake Britton would be better alternatives to the no-command Morales.
