Will The Sox Crack The Century Mark In Wins?

Your 2013 Carmine Hose have just 20 games left to play—and their division lead is a season-high 6.5 games. If they just go .500 the rest of the way, they will end up with 95 wins—26 games better than their 2102 mark. Chances are, they will do better than that and thus have a shot at achieving only their fourth season with 100 or more wins. Boston has gotten to the century mark just three times in their 111-year history: 1912 (won the World Series), 1915 (won the World Series), and 1946 (lost in Game 7 of the World Series). They will have to go 15-5 to get to 100 wins (a .750 winning percentage)—so it's by no means a slam-dunk. But, given the way the starters are pitching and given the way every member of this team seems to contribute at key points, it's certainly possible. And, by the way, the Sox won 95 games in both 2008 and 2009 and failed to advance to the World Series. So, we should probably focus less on some arbitrary win total and more on winning an eighth World Championship.
