'Lackey' Of Support Again; Sox Bow To DET, 3-0

If John Lackey were married to the Boston Red Sox lineup, he could sue for non-support. Once again, Lackey delivered a quality start and saw his teammates get skunked in a 3-0 loss to Detroit. The right-hander went 7 1/3 innings giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out five. Over Lackey's last 10 starts, Boston has averaged 1.9 runs scored. Pathetic. Today, the Red Sox went 0-11 with runners in scoring position—and left five runners at third base. This kind of Offensive Indifference has been rare in 2013, but when it rears its ugly head it does so in key games like today's.
