Braun's 'Charm Offensive' Getting Mixed Results

(Jacquelyn Martin, Associated Press)
Ryan Braun—who accepted a 65-game suspension for using PEDs—has begun calling individual Brewer fans to apologize for his actions. Braun went to team ownership and asked for random lists of season ticket holders and other fans to do a 'mea culpa' PR tour on the phone. Apparently, the ploy is meeting with mixed results. One callee—Wes Aldridge—was skeptical at first that it even was the former MVP on the horn. Aldridge asked Braun the rational question we all would like to ask PEDers, "Why a guy like you, that has all the talent in the world, why would you do something like this?" Braun's lame response was that "a friend" convinced him to do it and that it was a "mistake". The guy is still not really taking responsibility. Apparently, the dog ate his HGH. The team says the vast majority of those called were "appreciative" of Braun's effort. Isn't that special?
