WEEI Program Director Jason Wolfe was fired by the station's parent company (
Entercom) after 22 years at the helm of what
used to be the flagship sports talk station in Boston. Recently clobbered in the ratings by upstart
98.5 The Sports Hub, WEEI has been slow to adapt to the challenge—which began with the
Sports Hub's launch in 2009. Recent shufflings of talent (like the firing of long-time "Big Show" host
Glen Ordway) were not enough to re-charge a sluggish overall format.
