Red Sox And Pedroia Reach Long-Term Deal

Laser Show Signs!
According to WEEI.com's Rob Bradford, Dustin Pedroia has agreed—in principle—to a seven-year, $100 million contract with the Boston Red Sox. The pact will keep The Muddy Chicken in Carmine Hose until 2021. Rumors about the extension were flying all over Fenway this week and the deal is the best thing Ben Cherington could do to solidify a core commitment to the kind of all-out play that Pedroia typifies. As de facto Captain (and possibly de jure in the near future), he can truly lead the bevy of kids that will infuse the team over the next several years. Great move!
