Red Sox And Pedroia Eyeing Historic Extension

According to YAHOO! Sports, the Red Sox are primed to offer Dustin Pedroia a $100 million contract extension that would make him the game's highest-paid second baseman. The deal would reportedly keep The Muddy Chicken in Carmine Hose well into the next decade. The pact is said to be in the range of $20 million per year for a term of five or six years. This would be the best move yet by new GM Ben Cherington. Pedroia is the heart and soul of this franchise and needs to be locked up for life.
