Garza Likely Dealt Before Next Start, Sox Still In

According to ESPN's Jim Bowden, there's an "80 percent chance" that Cubs starter Matt Garza will be traded before his next start (due to be either next Monday or Tuesday). Bowden also claims that the Red Sox are one of the teams still in on Garza—along with the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks. As we reported earlier, word is that Theo Epstein is looking for both Anthony Ranaudo (RHP) and Garin Cecchini (3B)—two of Boston's best prospects—in a trade for Garza. The Nation is divided as to whether this much of a price is worth a short-term rental of Garza.
