Red Sox Are On Historic First Place Streak

After last night's error-filled debacle, you might need some good news about The Olde Towne Team. How about this? As of this morning, the Carmine Hose have either been tied for first place or in first place for 38 days to start this season. That is the longest continuous period that a Red Sox team has ever has owned first place to start a season, way past the old team record of 25 days set in—wait for it—1918. So, as you ponder the onslaught of injuries besetting the team and the fact that they've lost four out of the last five, realize also that this team is on an historic run.
