One Down, One Up |
The Red Sox made it official this morning.
Stephen Drew was activated from the disabled list and Jose Iglesias was optioned to AAA Pawtucket. So, the leading hitter on this 5-2 juggernaut is demoted in favor of a $9.5 million off-season acquisition. Given the way most of their moves have panned out so far, this will probably work as well. Drew is certainly a capable player—and before his ankle injury was one of the top shortstops in the National League. Drew will start tonight against Baltimore.
