The Red Sox—in need of arms in their vaunted bullpen—
recalled reliever Daniel Bard from the Portland Sea Dogs. This is likely to be a short-term detour to the majors for the troubled righty, as either
John Lackey or
Craig Breslow will displace him soon on the roster. Nevertheless, this is yet another golden opportunity for Bard to re-establish his value at the back-end of the Red Sox bullpen. Let's hope he seizes the opportunity.
