Thump-Less Red Sox Dead Last In Spring HRs

Raiders Of Lost Offense
What makes the David Ortiz situation so troubling is the fact that the Red Sox stand dead last in home runs hit so far this Spring. That's right, you're Carmine Hose have swatted exactly seven home runs in Grapefruit League play. By comparison the presumably lowly Seattle Mariners have thirty-one home runs so far. Perhaps the only comforting aspect of this is that the Yankees are only one home run better. Nevertheless, this clear power outage is likely to spill over into the regular season—especially if Papi is still on the mend come Opening Day. Where will the runs come from? Boston's team slugging percentage this Spring is just .353—good for 29th place on the MLB list and one point ahead of the Evil Ones. Looks like Boston and New York might be battling it out for fourth place. Yankee tickets, anyone?
