Three Sox Field Goals Fall Short; O's Win, 12-9

Gomes After 2-Run HR
So much for the old Spring Training adage about the pitchers being ahead of the hitters. Baltimore and Boston pounded pout 21 runs today, with the Orioles coming out on top, 12-9. If the Red Sox pitcher names Godfrey, Celestino and Martin don't ring a bell, you're in good company. They are three of the six Boston hurlers who coughed up 12 earned runs. Good news? Jonny Gomes hit a 2-run HR. Better still, Jackie Bradley Jr. (now hitting .444) went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs (a double and a triple off the bench!). How about Will Middlebrooks going 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs? Or Jose Iglesias having a 1 for 3 day? Notice a theme here? The future is getting closer and closer.
