Sox Fall To Brett Gardner And Some Other Guys

Grand expectations took a little step back today as the Red Sox lost to a Yankee team of near-total unknowns, 5-2. Only Brett Gardner—himself a marginal major leaguer—was even recognizable. The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Carmine Hose. Mike Napoli hit his first Red Sox HR, but Jackie Bradley, Jr. went 0-2. Ryan Dempster went three shutout innings—striking out two.
