Sox Fall To Pirates, 9-3; Drop To .500 On Spring

Today's 9-3 loss to the Pirates was a cautionary tale on middle relief. Jon Lester pitched well to start the game—giving up just one run over four solid innings. But it was the miserable "relief" of Steven Wright and Rubby De la Rosa that opened the floodgates for Pittsburgh. On the offensive end, Jonny Gomes doubled in a run and the new hot catching prospect that everyone is talking about, Christian Vazquez, singled in another. So, your 2013 Carmine Hose are at 6-6 on the Spring—more than likely a precursor to their actual winning percentage come October 1st.
